Sydney Inner-city High School likely to be in High-rise
Eating lunch on the roof of a high-rise building is not something to which Australian school students are accustomed.
But as families flock to the city, where there is little unoccupied land, Sydney will have to think creatively about how and where it can teach its growing school-aged population.
A working party will meet for the first time next month to search for a solution to the fast-approaching need for an inner-city public high school.
And most stakeholders agree the outcome will likely involve the repurposing of an existing building by either incorporating classrooms into a high-rise or converting a warehouse, factory or car park.
